Ana gave us permission to publish her six artifacts in full, lightly redacted. What follows is the whole arc of one decision, with the working shown.
Week one — the map
Fourteen options, which is high but not unusual. Four of them she had never said aloud to anyone, including her partner. Clustered, the fourteen resolved into five territories: stay and specialise, move into research, go independent, retrain entirely, and one she labelled simply leave the sector.
Week two — the evidence journal
The four signals were unambiguous and unwelcome. Absorption and repeat requests both pointed at the specialist path she had privately dismissed as boring. The three peak interviews all described the same eighteen months, which she had remembered as her worst stretch and which her colleagues remembered as the period she was most useful.
Week three — the filter
Money floor set below her current salary, deliberately. Geography clause ruled out anything requiring a move in the next three years. The regret test killed the retraining option in one line.
Week four — the cuts
Five territories to two in eighty minutes. Independent work failed the hours shape; leaving the sector failed the regret test on cross-examination, which she described afterwards as the most useful ninety seconds of the course.
Week five — the trials
A shadow day with a specialist team, and one small piece of research work delivered over a weekend. The shadow day scored below prediction. The research weekend ran four hours over and she didn't notice.
Week six — the letter
Read aloud on a Monday evening to eleven people, most of whom she will never meet in person. Her first ninety days had three moves and three dates. All three happened.
